1. Assessing Scene Safety and CPR

Check the scene is safe before approaching a casualty. Call for help early and clearly state your location.

The recovery position keeps an unconscious breathing casualty's airway open. Tilt the head back and place the nearest arm at a right angle.

CPR combines chest compressions with rescue breaths at a ratio of thirty to two. Push hard and fast in the centre of the chest.
